Adapter · Olympus OM to Fuji X adapter
A Olympus OM lens was built to sit 46 mm from the film. A Fujifilm X camera's mount sits 17.7 mm from its sensor, so an adapter 28.30 mm deep puts the lens back where it was designed to be, and it focuses from close up to infinity with no glass in between.
Zuiko lenses put the aperture ring at the front of the barrel, and many have a depth-of-field preview button on the lens itself. A plain OM adapter only has to hold the lens at the right distance, and you set the aperture on that front ring. Don't mix OM lenses up with Olympus's later Four Thirds and Micro Four Thirds lenses, which are electronic designs for digital cameras.
